Sunday Snippet: We Have a Winner

This is going to be a super busy week. The best part is my daughter is graduating from grad school on Friday. I'm so excited for her. And very proud of her accomplishments!

Our weather did the warm up then plummet back down thing this week. Gorgeous, though. Everything is turning green and blooming. I love those first signs of new growth.

Got a lot finished up with work projects. I think I'm getting closer to having a work-life balance again. I hope so because I have a busy May and June coming up and need to get some things done around my house.

Pretty decent week of viewing. I ended up keeping Dark Winds on the back burner because one of my faves dropped new episodes.

I finished up the run of London Kills. I'm quite happy with where things ended up on the chance there won't be any new episodes. I will say I'm not keen on the other DI so I'm hoping that's not going to be a thing if there is more to this series.

Brokenwood Mysteries is back! Watched the premiere episode and it didn't disappoint. Kind of twisty and turny and a little bit bonkers, which is perfect. Also rather nice to see Mike's house again. It's been missing the last few seasons.

Enjoyed an episode of Death in Paradise. I'd seen most of this one and liked it. I'm interested in how things with Selwyn's daughter will end up playing out.

Caught another episode of Beyond Paradise. I'm almost finished with the second season and hope the third will be available soon. Really liked the episode. I loved the interactions with Esther and Zoe. And really loved watching Anne deal with the letdown of finding out her new man is married.

Watched another episode of Batman Beyond. I have vague memories of this one but don't remember enough to know if Blight will end up making a return. My money is on yes.

Finished out the week with an episode of Classic Rugrats and, again, both were new to me. Actually loved the crawl space one. And, weirdly, I really enjoy Taffy.

That's it for the life update this week. Tonight's post is from We Have a Winner, a fun story about a betting pool of a when will they get caught couple.

Here's the miniblurb:

Kella Yates and Weston Grogan can't fight their attraction and everyone knows it. The entire crew of their ship waits in anticipation for their inevitable hook-up. When they finally cave in to their lust, the winner of the when will it happen pool can be declared.

And a sneaky peek…

Kella should've figured Weston would be on the same wavelength with her. After the interlude on the observation deck, the craving for more kicked in. Someday—hopefully soon—they wouldn't have to have stolen moments at random locations. They'd have the same bunk assignment.
But not tonight.
At least they didn't have to worry about being interrupted. Finally, they could have their sexy way with each other. As much as she wanted to go slow, she doubted they'd be able to. But … they would get fully naked.
After checking to make sure they had a clear path, Kella darted to the small arms locker and keyed in the access code. Weston followed and undogged the hatch. Kella's blood heated when Weston entered and tugged her in behind him.
Weston pushed Kella against the bulkhead and worked the zipper of her sweatshirt down. His mouth burned a trail from the column of her throat, down over her shoulder and lower, lower, until his lips closed over the taut nipple he'd exposed. His hands shoved Kella's pants past her hips and she stepped out, twisting around to grab hold of Weston's tanks, hauling him close to mesh her lips with his. Using both hands, she backed him against the bulkhead and repeated his movements. Tanks up and off, pants undone and shoved down. She went one step further, sinking to her knees and enveloping his hard length between her lips, going deep.
Weston moaned, his fingers tangling in her hair. "Damn, Kella. Give a guy warning next time."
She grinned around his cock, drawing back, but grasping the girth in her hands. "Now where's the fun in that?" Her tongue swirled around the tip, flicking back and forth. "Besides, you didn't give me any the last time."
Weston's lips quirked. "I didn't, did I?" He reached down and hooked his hands under her shoulders. "As much as I'd love to keep your lips around my dick, I gotta have more." His fingers delved between her thighs and found her wet and ready.
Kella bit back a moan. "Yeah, I get it. I'm so ready." She hitched her leg around his waist and sank over his hard length.
Weston groaned. "Ah, yeah. I've missed you…"

This story is going in a direction I didn't anticipate, which is always interesting to me.

That's it for this week. Catch everyone on the flipside.

Sunday Snippet: We Have a Winner

I'm still working on keeping all the plates spinning in the air. Finished up a few work projects and started more. I'm definitely not complaining even if I wouldn't mind things slowing down a wee bit.

Had a light week for television. I've pretty much decided that getting through one round of my rotation is doing well at the moment. I have some home projects that need attention and that cuts into screen time.

Caught another episode of Peak Practice and enjoyed it. I like how the trauma with Alice is still prevalent. And the surgeon guy is an interesting addition to the cast.

Watched another MasterClass lesson with Neil deGrasse Tyson. I've noticed he has a number of fairly short lessons and I'm not sure why they're not a little longer. They do have some great information.

Started The Babysitters Club and liked the first episode. I've heard rave reviews about this show and I'm looking forward to getting into the storyline.

Enjoyed another episode of the Ready Room for Star Trek: Discovery. I like the interviews but the format could use a little work. I'm keeping in mind that these were more than likely filmed during the Covid shutdown.

Watched an episode of Chicago Med. Ended up being pretty tense and gnarly for the entire ED. I'm a little bummed there wasn't an end scene with Ethan and April.

Caught another episode of The Snoopy Show. I love this for quick breaks when my eyes need something different to focus on instead of words on a page.

Finished up the first season of Cuffs. Have to admit the finale ended up being terrific. I wouldn't mind seeing more of this group of characters.

Watched an episode of Silent Witness and honestly, I have no clue what's going on. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I hope some pieces fall into place in the conclusion.

Started a new arc of Classic Who. So far, it's kind of lame but I think this one will get better as it goes along. Here's hoping.

Began a new-to-me series with Most Terrifying Places in America. The first episode featured a haunted prison in Ohio. I actually had a friend who went for one of the weekend excursions not long after it opened for tours. I can't remember if they enjoyed it or not.

Finished up the first season of Hawkeye by watching the deleted scenes and gag reel. I truly enjoyed this show. If they have a second season, I'm in.

Last but not least, I started another episode of Harrow and I'm liking how things are coming together for this season. Not sure how much I'll like the whole long, lost son angle, but I'm interested for now.

That's it for the life update. Tonight's post is from We Have a Winner, a sexy short that got a start with a writing community prompt.

Here's the mini-blurb:

Kella Yates and Weston Grogan can't fight their attraction and everyone knows it. The entire crew of their ship waits in anticipation for their inevitable hook-up. When they finally cave in to their lust, the winner of the when will it happen pool can be declared.

And a sneaky peek…

Weston Grogan strolled into the head and paused when he heard off-key whistling.

His lips curved into a grin. "She's here and no one else is … couldn't have timed things better." Making his way through the maze of stalls and sinks, he entered the changing area to find Kella Yates standing naked in front of the lockers, towel drying her hair.

He made his move and tested the waters, moving behind her and nuzzling her neck. Her head tilted to one side and the towel hit the floor. His palms skimmed over her shoulders still damp from the shower.

When she leaned back into him, he cupped her breasts, tweaking her nipples. Her hands reached behind her to fondle his hard length. His loose-fitting shorts gave her plenty of room to grip and stroke.

Kella turned and lifted her chin to meet his lips in a steamy kiss. Her tongue slipped inside and her fingers dipped under his waistband. She pushed the garment down past his hips then grasped his ass cheeks to pull him flush against her. He slid a hand between her legs, his mouth ghosting kisses over her collarbone.

The hatch clanged open and Kella sprang away from him to grab her tank top. He whipped a towel from a locker and wrapped it around his waist. He bunched the fabric in his fist, doing his best to hide his hard-on.

Weston cursed the intrusion. "Dammit." He'd been unable to coordinate his schedule with Kella's for closet to two weeks.

Kella gave him a disappointed look then quickly dragged her shirt over her head.

Melli Nichols entered the changing area, a curious look on her face.

Weston kept his gaze on Kella, whispering, "Later." Then he nodded to Melli on the way into the shower stalls.

Turning the water on, he shook his head. "Might be time to use the super-secret spot again." Soon … very soon.

I have a lot of fun with sexy shorts. Weston and Kella have no idea how much everyone wants to know what they get up to or how much money is riding on the outcome.

Sunday Snippet: We Have a Winner

Well, hello, March. So far, I'm still battling the stupid respiratory crud I thought I was over last week. It was just a little reprieve. That said, I do feel way better than I did three days ago when I had a moment where I thought death might actually be a better option than being sick. LOL Then I remembered to not be a ninny and get over myself. In the grand scheme of things, a stupid recurring cold won't last forever.

I did have a decent week of television viewing. Started off with a weird episode of Lexx that I honestly don't remember if I finished or not. Cold meds make things a wee bit fuzzy.

Followed up with an episode of Strike Back and, man, did they cram a lot of stuff into a single episode. I love that about this show. So much goes down it's hard to keep up.

Started an episode of Midsomer Murders while doing laundry. One of the best things I've ever done is add a television to my laundry room. Makes the chore of sorting and folding much more enjoyable.

Watched the first episode of Iron Fist's new season. While the pace is a little slow, I loved catching up to where everyone is. Joy is the biggest surprise that isn't actually a surprise. It'll be interesting to see where she ends up by the end. And Ward just fascinates me. Looking forward to seeing him work through all of his issues. Or not. LOL Danny and Colleen are terrific and I'm curious about how the episode ended. Danny's got some internal drama to work through or so it seems.

Chicago Fire had a great episode. I'll be really pissed if anything happens to Cruz's Chloe. Here's hoping that works out okay. The way the episode ended though, with Matt's place in flames, doesn't bode well for him.

Gotham had such a great episode. The ending though? Holy crap. I did not see that coming. I'm actually loving this season so much.

Caught another Classic Roswell episode and it's one of my favorites where Liz's grandmother suffers a stroke and doesn't make it. Michael being sneaky is such a not-Michael thing and I loved it, too.

Watched another episode of Arrow and I'm slowly but surely getting caught up. A great theme about what being a hero entails. Also liked getting confirmation that Stanley's a weasel. Loved Oliver's face when that realization kicked in. Also watched another episode of Murdoch Mysteries. I loved seeing some of the secondary characters shine in this one.

Caught a few episodes of Classic Who while attempting to get through the huge stack of dishes I have waiting to be washed. Being down with the sickness doesn't mean those buggers wash themselves. Bleh.

That's pretty much it for television this week. Tonight's post is from We Have a Winner, a sexy short that started with a writing community prompt of write a scene or story about someone winning a bet on when a couple would hookup.

"Last but not least, the super-secret pool of when Kella and Weston will finally hookup has not been won yet." Josh Hardway glanced at the clipboard in his hands. "That means Jones, Morrison, Benji, uh… Michael and Melli are out in the cold." He raised his head. "Any of you want to place a wager on a new date?"
Melli sighed. "Dammit, I would've won if I didn't have such crappy timing." A round of commiseration went through the room. "I swear if I'd been five minutes later, I would've caught them." With her luck, they probably finished what they started as soon as she left.
Didn't matter. The pool specifically stated the duo had to be caught in the act not necessarily that it had to be their first time. For all the rest of the crew knew, Kella and Weston fornicated like rabbits on a regular basis.
Melli shivered. What a visual.
Josh hand-waved her protest. "Yeah, yeah. No proof and foreplay doesn't count." He gave her a pointed look. "You're out of luck." Waving the clipboard, he waggled his eyebrows.
Melli grabbed a five from her pocket and slapped it on the table. "Fine. Give me the next open date." With the popularity of this pool, she might be looking at some time next year.
Josh smirked and pocketed the money. "Can't quit while you're ahead, can you?"
Melli snorted. "There is no ahead in this pool. It's all in or lose out." She'd been in from the beginning and she'd stay to the bitter end.
Too bad no one figured it would be over six months with no winner. The wild-eyed chemistry between Kella and Weston all but set the ship on fire. Maybe they'd found some out of the way place to get it on.
Josh laughed then held up the clipboard again. "Any of you other losers wanna get back in the pool?"
Jones and Michael opted out, but Morrison and Benji stayed in, handing over their money. Melli did a quick calculation and shook her head.
She got up and faced the gathered group. "Seriously? Whoever wins this better throw the biggest damn party we've ever seen." There had to be close to a thousand bucks on the line.
Definitely not the usual fifty to one hundred they usually collected if they won a pool.
Melli planned to stake out the couple on her downtime to up the chances she'd walk away the winner. After all, she had more than money invested in the outcome. Her romantic side wanted Kella and Weston to find happiness in each other's arms.

I'm having a lot of fun with this little story. Kella and Weston have quite the following on the ship.

That's it for this week. Catch everyone on the flipside.

Sunday Snippet: We Have a Winner

Well, I can finally breathe again. I'm truly hoping I'm done with the cold / viral ick / seasonal funk now. Yeesh.

Gotham had a great episode. I loved the end with two potential villains putting their heads together. That combo could lead to some truly good viewing.

The Flash is getting interesting. I have a sneaking suspicion about who Zoom is going to turn out to be, but I'll refrain from speculating for now. My biggest hint is in looking at his garb…

Arrow keeps getting better and better. I like seeing Oliver and Felicity having some conflict. And it's always fun to see Mama Smoak.

Not much to say about the other shows, but Agents of SHIELD is staying twisty and I like that. Unless it gets too hard to tell who is on what side. Then I'll be annoyed.

One final television note. Doctor Who. Yeah. So disappointed. I can't shake the feeling Moffat and company are trying to be too clever and they're sacrificing the emotional component to do so. "Sleep No More" came off as a jumbled mess, in my opinion. Maybe I'm too stupid to 'get' the cleverness. I don't know.

Tonight's post is from We Have a Winner, a sexy short where my main characters are the subject of a wager.

Here's the mini-blurb:

Kella Yates and Weston Grogan can't fight their attraction and everyone knows it. The entire crew of their ship waits in anticipation for their inevitable hook-up. When they finally cave in to their lust, the winner of the when will it happen pool can be declared.

Weston's lips quirked. "I didn't, did I?"
Shorter than normal peek, but I hope it whets the appetite.
